Event Announcement

The amount of interest in attending our first event back has been unbelievable! We are so excited to get back to the buzz and excitement of in store events again.
Because of the pent up demand, we fully expect this first event to fill up quickly; but rest assured there will be plenty more opportunities to play as the month goes on. As our first post indicated, this first event on July 2 will be capped at 30 players and will begin at 6:30pm. This will allow us to ease back into in store play, as well as provide for ample space for all players.
**Registration for this first event on July 2 will open up on our website at 5pm sharp this Saturday, June 26th.**
If you happen to be in the store at this time you can also pre register in person, but it may just be easier to do so through our website. Event entries are currently hidden from the site, but they will be added back in soon and will appear on the left hand side under the "Browse Store" heading.
For the week of July 4th, we will be hosting the following events:
Monday 7/5 @ 6:30pm: Modern Horizons 2 Draft (capped at 24 players)
Wednesday 7/7: Commander Day is Back! For at least this first week, we will be requiring pre registration to reserve your spot and will be capping at 40 players
Thursday 7/8 @ 6:30pm: Legacy & Modern (each capped at 16 players)
Friday 7/9 at 6:30pm: Modern (capped at 24 players) & Strixhaven Draft (capped at 16)
Information on pre-registration for these, and future events, will be coming soon. Be sure to keep an eye on our Facebook page or our website for more information.
See you soon!

Extended Hours

We are extending our hours each week as we slowly return to normal hours. This week:

Monday - Friday: 10:00am - 8:00pm

Saturday: 10:00am - 6:00pm

Sunday: 10:00am - 5:00pm

Keep your eyes out for more extended hours coming soon!

Return of In Store Play!

I'm very excited to announce our plans for re-opening our play space and returning to in person play! Before I go into the details of this plan, I wanted to take a minute to recap the crazy year plus we've all just gone through.

TLDR: First event will be Modern on 7/2, with more events being added back weekly throughout July. Pre-registration and face masks will be required for all events for at least the first few weeks of events. More details on the 7/2 event, as well as the rest of the events for July, will be coming next week.

The last fifteen months have been a rollercoaster for everyone, with so many uncertainties and non-stop curve balls. The start of the pandemic was a scary time for everyone. Like most businesses, we had no plan in place on how to handle a global pandemic, and early on there were plenty of challenges we had to address to keep our business going. From the start, our number one priority was to do everything we could to ensure a safe workspace for our employees and customers. We had to make a lot of very hard choices along the way, but we weren't ever willing to compromise on safety. Personally, my family and I took every precaution we could, and followed the science closely. Thankfully we all stayed safe and healthy throughout, and are anxiously looking forward to when our younger children can get vaccinated.

All of this is to say that we didn't take the decision to open up in person play lightly. I would rather err on the side of being overly cautious, than to rush into things and take unnecessary risks. With that in mind, we won't just be opening the floodgates for events - getting back to our old slate of events will take some time.

As of today, our plan is to hold our first in person event on Friday, July 2nd! For that event, we will be requiring pre-registration and will be capping attendance at our first few weeks worth of events to 30 people. This will allow us to give everyone plenty of space, as well as help all of us ease back into running events.  Face masks will be required for the play space, even though they are not required for shopping. We feel that playing in an event is a pretty different animal than simply shopping, and feel that taking the added precaution of face masks will help everyone feel more comfortable and safe as we ease into things. We have a nearly entire new staff since the last time we ran an event, and WoTC has rolled out a brand new tool to run events that both staff and players will need to get used to.

This first event on July 2nd will be Modern, and next week we will be posting more details about it and the following few weeks worth of events. We will detail how to pre-register, when that registration will open, and what events we will be bringing back as we progress through the month. I'm sure there will be plenty of hiccups along the way as we ease our way back into in-person events, and I greatly appreciate your patience as we get back to some sort of new normal.

It's been a long and difficult road getting back to this point, and we could not have done it without the tremendous support of our community. I want to thank all of you that have continued to support us; it has meant the world to me and my family!
